Hi, I'm a new member to this site as I have finally managed to put a deposit on a 2002 996 C2 coupe, the car I am purchasing has the X74 suspension from the factory and one of the first things I am going to do when I pick it up (hopefully on Friday) is get the geometry checked by a company I have been using for my other cars for years, they have quite a bit of experience with Porsche's. They have said that they didn't recommend running the factory rear camber settings as it will wear the rear tyres on the inside edges very quickly. The car currently has new Michelin PS2 N3's all round.
Has anyone got any experience with these settings and whether the factor setting do indeed wear the tyres on the inside edges? Obviously I want the best settings for the vehicle but at the same time the rear tyres are pretty pricy and so if I can avoid any undue wear it would be advantageous if it has little impact on the handling. I will be using the car predominantly for spirited road driving with little if any track work.
Thanks in advance.
