June 20th - Carole Nash Cotswold Rally
This event will start at Cornbury House and the first cars will be away at 9.30 a.m. For those of you that are unfamiliar with this event, it is a non-competitive Road Rally run under a MSA Certificate of Exemption for a "˜Touring Assembly'. The distance is about 90 miles with a stopping point midway. This year, the stopping point will be the Motor Heritage Centre at Gaydon and the entry fee to the rally includes entry for two adults to the grounds and the motor museum.

Each year, we try to learn any lessons from the previous events and there will be changes this time. Last year, we added a first class midway stop, but as many members enjoyed it so much, they arrived back at Cornbury House later than expected and for some of them the food had run out. This year there will not be a BBQ at the end; instead we will be supplying each car with a picnic lunch for two people. The idea is that entrants can arrive back as early or late as they wish without missing out on anything.

This year we are limiting the entry to 100 cars and the entry fee will remain at £30 per car, which includes Rally plate and badges, a picnic lunch and entry to the Motor Heritage Centre. If you can cram three adults into your Porsche you will have to pay an extra entry at the Heritage centre.

This event is simple and social. No special skills are needed, tulip route cards are provided, so you won't need any maps. The roads range from A to B class and some single track, but they will not cause difficulty to the most radically lowered cars. The Cotswold Rally has a reputation as 'the friendly event'.

You will find an Entry Form in April PP. For further information, please ring Geoff Ives on 01865 880626 or email cotswoldrally@porscheclubgb.com.

August 27th-30th Brands Hatch Festival
Brands Hatch Festival Booking Forms are going well. We are revisiting the 911 evolution picture, to include the facelift 996 and hopefully 997. Please advise us whether you wish to apply for the track session or special display. We could have a photographic competiton for the best image of the cars compared to the computer generated original Porsche evolution image. It worked at Liscombe Park in 2000 (see Sept 2000 PP).
