996 ipod/iphone connection

Hi can any one help i have a 2000 996 tip with the full phone and satnav package and a cd player in the front,sat nav doesnt work or the phone i dont really want to replace it, but i do want to be able to use my iphone to listen to music as the speakers are really good.
Is there a lead available to plug into the back of the unit to give a direct connection to the iphone as i have looked at an fm transmiter but the reveiws are very poor.

hi paul
try a company called solisto.de on the net - they sell a box which replaces the cd changer connection on the cdr21 (the non fibre optic type) - i have one on a becker 4720 which is almost the same - works fine and doesnt require any chopping of wires or anything. Guessing that the old PCM satnav system has similar connections on the back?
