996 Convertible will not work after hard top removed

Posted on 996 Forum but I assume they work the same

Never had problems with the soft top before

REmoved Hard Top - Now Soft top will not come close

Handbrake light goes on and off when it should

Engine light goes out when I shut the cover

Have tried playing with the cover where the Hard top goes in at the Windscren Pillar

Did fir the AutoOpen switch last year been great

Any Ideas please
