996 3.4 Side Skirt REmoval

Seen all about PU Removal back and from (Now got the Back PU Removal down to 5 minutes with new fixings)

But would like to remove the side skirts to check what is all like underneath

Or should I leave well alone

If it aint't broke, dont fix it![:)] You will find a stone chip protection painted body colour on the sill. the mounting aluminium mounting strip and an adhesice sealing strip which seals the top of the PU sills to the body.
However, if it is the aerokit polyurethane moulding, and you want to dismantle, you will find it is held in place with a row of countersunk self tappers on the underside, which fit into 8 special U clip cage nuts located on one of the chassis seams on the steel sill underside. These can be a pain to remove as they will normally be rusted in place, so a good dose of penetrating oil the night before will assist, be prepared to buy a new set from Porscheshop or similar when refitting and give them a good dose of waxoyl to prevent corrosion.
Front and rear they are held in place with plastic fixings whichhold the PU onto the inner wheel arches.
Everything is explained fully in the Aerokit "Cup" Technical Bulletin, which I am sure if you asked Richard Hamilton nicely, he would send to you?

Enclosed is a photograph

I have the Aero Wing I think and possibly the Poyurethene side skirts

I presume I can tell if they are fitted by the screws holding it on
