For changing the fan / alternator v-belts, with the engine in the car, which tool do you use to hold the alternator shaft whilst undoing / tightening the 24mm nut?

Looking for experience on the optimal tool given the restricted access with the engine in situ and need to tighten to 50Nm to stop it working loose when running.

The long arm ratchet with M10 12 point I used to hold the alternator shaft when the engine was out of the car is to deep for when the engine is installed.

The original 993 tool kit comes with an Alternator Polygon Wrench, however, this has a short shaft to hold it so what’s recommended to hold / extend it to torque the nut or what other tool do you use?

I take it yours is a turbo? Turbos are 50mm further back in the engine bay than n/a cars so it is really tight.

I have a small stainless steel section of pipe about a 8" long that the polygon wrench slides into.

You can also use an electrical insulated screwdriver carefully slotted through the alternator to hold it
