[h1]992 Owners Cars[/h1]I thought I will start a thread, the same as Peter Webb did for the 991 a while back.

My 992 has being prepared ready for pickup tomorrow. I thought I will include some photos I took today at Porsche Centre Cardiff.

I'm just sticking my head over the fence, from the 991 Forum, to say how fantastic that interior looks! I don't think I'd ever tire of seeing it as I opened the door.

I was also going to say that it's a shame that Porsche don't offer more two-tone combinations. Black-and-cream, for example. But then I'd realised that Porsche would say that they do, and point in the direction of Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur. Given the price of some of the items available a la carte, I shudder to think of the cost of going 'off menu' entirely.

Still waiting at this stage Huw, I was told that it was delivered to the port at Emden a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully not too much longer. Are you pleased with it? How does it compare with your GTS?

Its early days yet Martin, at this stage it is quieter even with the SPE than the 991.2GTS.

The shipping of the car from the factory to the dealer is a pain. Took over 3 weeks.

You will find that the car will be shipped without the famous drink holder, also with only one active tracker fob, they re waiting for a software update which is not ready yet.

I received a good news text from Anthony at PCW yesterday to say that our car is now at Grimsby, so hopefully it wont be too long until our car is here. well thats good news, I hope Grimsby is quicker than Sheerness.

I am having problems with mine on starting. It takes too long to kick over and and alarm comes up showing engine failure and ACC. I took it back to the centre and they have diagnosed a sensor fault on the crank shaft, have to wait for the part to come in.

Oh Huw I am sorry to hear this, how frustrating. I guess that there will always be some glitches with a new car, although you would have hoped that they would have dealt with some of these issues during testing. I hope that they soon sort it out for you.

Your cars look great together, it really shows how much larger the new cars are but also continues the heritage and design of where they have come from, even my Mother in law could tell that both cars are a Porsche 911. I cant think of any other manufacturer that has ever done this as well as Porsche and in my opinion Porsche have really got it right once again with the latest version of the legendary 911. The colours on both of your cars look good too, from the people that I know that are waiting for cars, I suspect that there are initially going to be a lot of silver cars coming through too. I hope that you and your son have some great adventures together with your 911’s.

I followed him home on the motorway and I must admit the rear view of it is fabulous. (I am not jealous, really!)

I bought my first Porsche when he was two years old. As he has grown up we have shared a Porsche passion.

I am very proud that with no help from myself, he has done well enough to purchase his first Porsche.

I think we are going to have great fun driving the two cars together.

Must make him get a Club membership now.
