Seems you have to remove and unscrew the leadlamps to convert to LHD pattern.

Bit extreme while waiting for the Chunnel in the car park!

Can you get simple stick-on patches to do the same job?

You can get patches but it's quite simple to take out the headlights and move the lever. The handbook describes it quite well.
 
Agree with Robin. Remove a rubber bung insert the tool and twist and the lamp is free. Reverse process to replace.

A beautiful bit of engineering. Try doing that on a Lotus!

Do it at home before you leave if travelling in daylight?
