981PCM keeps losing connection to iPhone via lightning cable

I have tried a different lightning cable, but no joy - assuming therefore the cable between the USB in the glove box and the PCM rear is somehow damaged. Cannot seem to find anything similar to this on google.
I prefer using the cable vs BT Aux, as find the volume difference when switching to radio invariably means the radio is blaring loud vs the lower volume of the BT Aux.
Any ideas from the forum gurus?
Just had the wife's PCM back from Cartronics as the PCM board had failed & it wouldn't boot up - rather not have another expensive moment with mine!
I wish it was the easy option!BrianJ said:Yep, de-fluffing the socket is a routine maintenance task.
Anyone else finding the cable not charging their phone fast enough vs battery usage in playing?mj2k said:OK used BT today for the AUX, was fine but sure it sounds worse.
Also my USB doesn't seem capable of charging as fast as the phone loses charge which seems to indicate something wrong somewhere!
