968 spare wheel

Well it didn't last time it got used for moving a shell around. TBH i've no intention of ever using it because I consider space saver wheels a total waste of time - I now have 5 x D90's with one for a spare.

Mine took three days Chris. I wonder whether partially inflating over the course of several days would make them less likely to fail?

before fitting the new carpets I'm going to have the interior re-sprayed, I know the boot floor is full gloss body colour but what should the area around the rear lights and side bins be[:)] mine seem to be a matt black but I know it's had a new rear panel at some stage so this may not be original

I made sure to deal with the bottom of the spare wheel well and the side wells, and have them sprayed, when the car was in the bodyshop. There was a surprising amount of rust under the spare, but I'd bet it had never been moved in 20-odd years!

The inside should all be body colour, but repairers are always lazy when spraying repair panels that are out of sight, so I'd bet that's the reason for the black bits.

Hi Ken, thanks for the PM I am not too keen if it doesn't fit properly so may go the route of having a custom made carpet.

Hope you get a return on your outlay, think you are going to need one of the 68 boys in need of a replacement.

Cheers Paul..gloss back all over then that makes it easy[:D]
