968 M030 brake disks (drilled)

The 968 m030 disks are different from the 944 Turbo and S2 variety as they are drilled (or cast with holes), does anyone know if they are a straight replacement for the S2 disks or are they a different fit?

Cheers

But theyre noisy, dusty and wear the pads very quickly, for very, very little gain. Id fit 928S4 disks for half the price and twice the pad life.

They weigh a little less [;)]

I've had the Sebro discs (with the cast holes) fitted to my 968 for the past 3 years. The pads are still lasting well, seemingly wearing no faster than when I had blank discs and pagid racing pads seem to create alot of dust no matter what.

Wouldn't say they're noisy though.

I'll probably go back to blank discs when it comes to renewing them though.

There must be some advantage otherwise why would Porsche fit them to most of its performance models? Just looks? The main issue for me is the cost of the original Porsche discs, the standard m030 discs are expensive enough and the 968 drilled ones a 3rd more again. They do look the nuts though...

Advantage = slightly less weight and more importantly, they clear gas and clear the pads.

Disadvantage = they dont last as long (they crack) and they wear pads more.

Whether theres a real road advantage is debatable but they certainly look trick.

For heavy track use they may wear out quickly, but for road use they are ok.
I have done 40k miles with these Sebros at the front and am only halfway through the second set of standard pads.

How much are the 968 crossed drilled cast disc's exactly? Jon Mitchell is trying to get me to buy a set. He seems to rate them quite highly.

Exeter OPC quoted £222 each for fronts and about £180 each for rears, thats with 15% discount and inc VAT. Standard m030 (non drilled) are £150 fronts and £120 rears.

Try through other Sebro suppliers, mine were 100£ each... though I must admit that was 7 years ago already [8|]

By comparison, you can get four Sebro blank discs, M030 size, from Eurocarparts for £244.04, using their current 31% off discount code!

£560 extra is a bit expensive for a few holes!

True 968 M030 front brake discs are only available from Porsche, retail at £218 each + vat (96535104101 & 96535104201)

The 928S4 cross drilled Sebros are probably the best option at £96.00 each + vat

The ECP Sebros are not M030 size but not drilled, just standard 298mm (M030 are 304mm)

Yep, my post above was for blank 304mm Sebro discs...you just have to choose a 1992 928 S4 as your car on the ECP website, to select them! (other parts distributors are available too, of course!)
