964RS THE MOST ECONOMICAL 911 EVER?

Well you may say as a rough and ready track/clubsport 911 how could it be... well let's look at the job it does so well and the costs of owning this finest of the 964 range:

1. Fuel economy, who really cares, but on a run I have achieved nearly 40mpg, obviously keeping the car off the cam.

2. Track Day Warrior, they are ready to go from tack day to track day with very little maintenance, easy on tyres , brakes, discs etc....unless completely abused!

3. Trouble free running, no oil leaks or mechanical failures, (unlike 964C2/4)...unbreakable mechanics..

4. Appreciating asset.10% compound growth.

5. Easy maintenance, less to go wrong no electric, windows, a/c, blah blah blah......

6. Fairly cheap insurance on restricted mileage......

I think we sometimes forget why these cars have such a great reputation and high residual values, as long as we look after them...........any comments.........[8|]

Just another thought: Still high value for money considering the other Porsche
track cars available.

By god you're right Des! I can't believe that I've never realised it before, I'll give you 100k - hope that I'm not insulting you with such a derisory offer [:D]
Call me on the mobile if you're interested as I'll be in the garage polishing my nuts [;)]

Get back to yer nuts Chris and leave my poor deluded untergruppenfuhrer alone!! [:D]

At least he's got a roof over his head! [:)]

Hi Chris, glad to see you have taken time from polishing your nuts to drop into the RS Forum. Any subject related content is always very welcome particularly from an Anorak as yourself and WINNER OF THE PORSCHE CLUB GREAT BRITAIN QUIZ.........[;)]

Was there anything you wanted to add to this very interesting thread? "964RS economical supercar".........an aspect of ownership that many overlook, thought I might try and stimulate some informed comment.....

All the best and see you at the next Kent Night...

Love to all.........
