964 turbo 3.6 in Speed Yellow; valuation?

I've been contacted by a register member who has a RHD 964 turbo 3.6 in Speed Yellow which he wants to sell.
It's in very good condition and has done 54000 miles, but .... it's recorded as a Cat C write off, and the only service history is for the past 2.5 years with the current owner.
Given the rarity of the turbo 2 3.6 in the first place, plus the fact that it is in the rare model launch colour, what's a realistic figure that he can expect to get for it?

964T 3.6 seem to be advertised high 30's. But a CatD is a 3rd off for starters. = high 20's. But the patchy service will put even more off, maybe £25K? If it checks out would be a good buy for someone.

Addict, he says cat c, which is worse....

[*]Category C - Repairable. Possibly structural damage. Cost of damage (at main dealer prices and labour rates) is more than book value
[*]Category D - Repairable. Probably non-structural damage. May have been economic to repair, but insurer doesn't want to.

What did he pay?

There have been two 965 3.6 for sale for some time on Pistonheads, both I believe with gaps in their service history but otherwise immaculate. They've both been advertised for some time and both have reduced their prices - one is at £40k & the other at £37k. They have been discussed on Pistonheads (as has the Paragon car up at £42k) and the concensus seems to be that people will pay top dollar for an immaculate 3.6 with a perfect history, but anything less than this and the price needs to be much more realistic (i.e. in line more with 3.3 prices) to tempt people.

Bearing in mind the colour, the lack of service history (which means the mileage quoted is irrelevant) and it being cat D, I'd say he'll struggle to sell it full stop unless he prices it very low - £20-£25k. If the condition is poor, then even less than that.

It must be worth at least 15k as spares! If i had space i would offer at least that.
How many UK cars are known to have been scrapped ? I wonder how many of the original 45
or so are left, and of those i guess about a dozen in top condition. Can you shed any light Mr.Ward?

When i read the title i was immediately going to say "a fortune" until i saw the post and the insurance status. I am not sure what it is worth but i would have thought it would all depend on the level of repairs done and the standard of these.

If he is seriously interested in selling please PM me his contact details as i'm looking for another 3.6T for track/road rally use and would love the same colour and look as my road car.

Is this the car i've seen in a clip of at Oulton Park on a drift day??

I'm thinking £22K if the car looks OK and is in excellent mechanical order.

When was it given a Cat C title ? I ask because my daily driver (Ford Fiesta) was recently written off and is now a Cat C although the car did not receive any damage at all near or inside the wheelbase. I think maybe the categories have changed recently. I argued with my insurance company that my car should not be a Cat C but they were adamant. I bought back the car for 10% of it's value and had it repaired myself with the money they paid out on it.
