964 CELEBRATION

Guest

New member
I have just become the proud owner of a 964 celebration amongst my collection of Porkers. Could someone tell me some facts please about this model? For example I know there were 911 produced , but how many RHD ones are there and does anyone know how many there are registered with the club and or in the UK?
Also thinking about doing quite a lot to the car, and having it supercharged. Is Ninemeister the best in this field?

Any suggestions/ contacts very welcome.

Johannes

Congratulation Johannes.
Have you seen the photos of the Celebrations in my photo competition gallery. Checkout www.porsche964.co.uk and goto the photo comp.

I too have one of these in Viola. Apropos your comment about modifications, you might like to email John Adams - johnmadams@hotmail.com - who has recently purchased a Ruf modified one with over 400 bhp. I have been trying to get together with him to see the car but have not yet managed it - perhaps we could sort something out collectively.

Hi John M

My car is polar silver. I know your site , my other 964's photographs are in the photo album. Will put this on it too. Hope to meet you some day. I have become a fanatic on 964's in the last couple of years.

Hi Richard

Yes, very nice in viola, a while back I enquired about yours. I know the Ruf celebration too, great car!

Yes lets see if we can do something collectively. Think might want to see if we can start a 911 Celebration register aswell, if not maybe a 964 one.

c u soon.

Hi

I'm a new club member and a new Celebration owner - my first Porsche. I have a RHD Viola example no 577, now 'imported' to N Ireland.

I understand there were only 899 actually made and the other 12 bodyshells were used for a variety of other projects.

There was another Celebration model in N Ireland at one time but I have not yet had time to track it down.

Apart from a G-pipe, mine is standard. What is the view on modifying such a limited edition car - does it spoil the re-sale value? eg a fixed rear wing, lowered suspension etc.

Great to hear from all of you CELEBRATION OWNERS. Anyone else who is the proud owner of one??!! I know Tony Bull is , RO Southern Region. I think we are on to something here. We can maybe be allowed our own little forum and or register?! So don't be shy , let me know who you are. It is an absolutely fantastic car. The looks are awesome. I have 5 other Porsches and soon a 996 celebration aswell, but my 964 Celebration is my number one!!!

there is one for sale in polar silver here incase anyone is searching for a celebration

The one for sale at Autobahn appears (to me) to have a lighter colour than the Viola Metallic that I thought Celebrations came in. Perhaps this is a special order 964?

I know of another Celebration that was on sale a couple of weeks back at Concours Motor Company. It was in Viola, originally a LHD, but converted to RHD (apparently done well) and had a mileage of 22k. Guy I spoke to did not seem to believe the mileage though.

Hoping to pick up mine over the next week, cannot wait!

Let me know if you start a separate register. I've got number 308

Brian,

I saw Mike at the jumble yesterday and he said you'd just bought a turbo. Is this car the Ruf RCT converted Celebration from Eporsch???? If it is, it looks absolutely astounding!!! Welcome to the 964 fold BTW. Look forward to seeing it in the flesh so to speak!!!

Regards

Dave

Thanks Dave - it's true, I sold my 3.2 Carrera to find something different. And did I!

Have you bought the RUF conversion one off eporsch at £35k - I think that is the same one that was on Pistonheads only 2 months ago at £26,500!

[][]

Yes I am the new owner of the RUF conversion [:)] and I am very happy with the car and the price that I paid for it!

Congratulations Big Mac, I know I was miffed when I missed it at £26k - it looked lovely.

Welcome to 964 enjoyment and celebration rarity. It's a car of a life time. Know the car , know the guy you bought it from too. It is a great, great buy! Mine is now supercharged through 9m and new wheels coming, sports exhaust done, new lenses all round done. Next is new dials and leather interior re colonised.

Working on the register for celebration models. Will let you know Brian.
