964 C2 Odometer stopped working

The odometer and trip counter on my 1990 964 C2 speedometer have stopped working. The speedo is still working so I'm assuming it is the small nylon gears that drive the odometer that have failed. It must have happed when last resetting the trip as that is still reading 0000. I'm aware you shouldn't reset the trip whilst moving and I don't think I did, but could have I suppose. There appears to be different numbers of teeth available so is there any way of knowing the correct combination needed or do I just have to strip it down, order the correct gears and then rebuild? If I elect not to do it myself, can anyone recommend any companies that will sort it in a reasonable timeframe? (not Speedy Cables please)
Thank you
