944 turbo - Performance Exhausts - Fabspeed ??!!!

ORIGINAL: Copperman05

I thought Janspeed made exhausts to order? Last time I spoke to them they told me they can make a batch, minimum about 8-10 iirc. If they do that for the S2 cant see why they couldnt for the turbo, you just need a group buy or company like Promax to commission a batch or 2. Although I appreciate that's not that easy..
Another company to look at is Zero exhausts, great quality work and the have done a few 944's in the past.

Edd

Zero did the custom section on my car, Kevin did a really nice job and top quality welding.

I had the last wortec exhaust from Promax but Fabspeed were next on my list. I think they were pretty competitive price wise for the whole system even with postage.
Bit off topic but have you ever had any problems with this? Especially with the valve becoming stuck in one position or exceeding noise levels at track days etc? (I'm assuming you have the switchable option.)

ack car,the minute my rear box blows I am getting one.

try putting some salt in it Mark........[:D]

more seriously, do you think the 4" (which I'm guessing is on your 401hp Promax Car?) is a benefit over the 3"?

The Four inch feels like it breaths really easy, but the 3 inch is quieter and less burbly, plus looks more standard tailpipe wise .The 4 inch doesn't appear on the fabspeed website anymore?
The 4inch really does add character to the red car, especially when it has a healthy flash of flames poking out of the back[:D]
Lindsey racing did offer 4 inch systems?

Much though I quite liked the idea of the switchable part for the best part of £500 (IIRC) I decided to do without. Mine is set to quiet and its good. You can hear it from the outside but not really when inside. No issues at cruising speed either.
Only minor issue was that the MOT tester (where Promax take all their cars) put a note on the advisories - "exhaust loud"!
Now maybe he was having a bad day but since he must see all those V8 Monaros Promax do too it can't be that bad!

Hi mate, forget all about the yanks and Hayward and Scott. Try googling POWERFLOW Exhausts and find your local dealer. 3" and 4" systems from the turbo back not a problem! With about a zillion tail pipes to choose from [8D]!! I'm running a twin system on my VW T4 and it looks and sounds the mutz nutz!! Getting one made up for my 44 turbo after Christmas and can't wait! Good value for money too. Full system for the T4 £440.00. Good luck mate [:)]

Look at the Fabspeed pics, the quality of the manufacture, the mandrel bends, the welds, the polished finish and compare.......
I wouldn't discount the "Yanks" so easily.
