For those that are interested I found a page with details of a Porsche 944 Turbo Cup Car as used in Canada in the early 90's. It contains some rare footage of 944 period racing and details of what made a cup car. Plenty of pics too.

This is a great car. I get a kick out of this comment from the advert
"The VIN # is WP0ZZZ95ZJN165096 and the odometer shows 10,038 kilometers (6,235 miles). Please note that the VIN number does not conform to standard passenger car format and is therefore not recognized in eBay's system"

This VIN is a standard Porsche ROW VIN - it is recognized by Alberta, Canada vehicle registration systems with no problems. (I registered my S2 which came from Japan with and ROW VIN with no issues at all). Looks like eBay tries to process the ZZZ as the North American coding for body style, door count, etc.
