Lo all. Probably one of those obvious ones but i must check.

To fix my broken odometer im told its normal to change the binacle i.e the whole dial set.

I take it you do need to change the whole thing , which means ill need one from a turbo as clearly they are different / speedo boost guage etc.

Cheers Mas

As well as a Turbo specific binnacle I believe there are also two variants that have different top speeds marked on the speedo. Simon knows more about these so hopefully he'll be along at some point.

I repaired my Turbo odometer, obtained the replacement drive gear from Rennbay.com and fitted myself, relatively straightforward job. The gear's about £25 including shipping. Trouble with replacing the whole cluster is you dont know when the new one's going to let go.

Now that I know there is a 'gear' that goes , its amazing how many U.S suppliers have that cog in various guises. They all charge 25 to 27.50 dollars

20 pounds delivered for a plastic cog, it just shows you what you can charge when you have something people need, even if they have had them made that's quite cheeky :)

I have manages to download a PDF sheet of instructions for the repair. I'm not too keen on taking the dash out though I must admit.

Cheers

Mas

Hi Mas,

Taking the binnacle out is very straight forward and easy, took mine out and split to put the chrome gauge rings in about 8 years ago, just remove the steering wheel.
