has anyone got or know where there is a picture of the safe lifting points for a 944 on a ramp.

I saw an article in 911 Porsche World last month from one of the leading 944 race specialists in the UK and even he had it wrong ! he had the pads under the front floor pan ![8|]

jeezus christos Nick didn't notice which page did you ? wading through that thing is like swimming in bloody treacle with ya hands tied behind your back !
could't find it in Body

i have heard to be careful on drivers front as you can slightly crease floor and trap the throttle cable!! could be wrong though!

yes there is no way I'm going to let anyone jack my car on the floor pans [8|]
You'd have to be crazy to risk it.
I thought that there were alternative positions but if not I'll make sure they jack on the front crossmember and rear wishbones
that diagram doesn't even remotely resemble the 944 anyway ?

It's upside down, Peanut! [;)][:D][:D]

It's a US spec car, see rear bumper. The front jacking points are only used on a 4-point lift and meant to support 1/4 of the car's weight. That's why the floorpan will distort if you use this alone. For that reason it's not marked on the diagram!

I don't think there was anything wrong with the pic - they were using the standard points that are used on a lift.

I think the best jacking points are in the middle of the sills & underneath the gearbox. - I don't think I could get a jack under the front crossmember of my car - it's hard enough finding a jack that's low enough to get under the sills.
