944 s2 cab - roof relays - help required

Hi can anyone help please
Just bought a 944 s2 cab
The power hood works if connected straight to the battery but not from the switch.
I am assuming its the relays that are located behind the rear seats.
But i cannot find what relays i need as these were missing. I have found an old relay cover, its a bosch 0 332 204 159. But not sure if this is correct.
If anyone could confirm the part numbers or relay numbers that would be fantastic.
Thanks in advance

The roof mech and switching is more complex than it need be, so make sure first that you operate the correct procedure on operating roof, (not saying you are not, but a double check is worth it). First, ignition needs be in switch pos 1, first click, roof ONLY works like this.
Also, when you release the roof with the T handles, and give it a shuv upwards, there, are microswitches in the "peg holes" in the top of windscreen that release with the shuv up! Unformtunately, these can stick, get worn or displaced and if they dont release, roof wont work at all on the switch.

As for your relays, I am not sure I have any behing the rear seats. it has been a while since I had the hood mech off mine, but I dont recall any relays there. There are micro switches on the side of the hood mech (sort of just behing drivers ear) that are fragile and can drop from their mountings but these only affect limit of movement.

So sorry if I am telling you what you knwo already, but a double check on the windscreen top mount microswtices may help first, and double check the key is in the correct place too.

My S2s roof wont work unless i have first started the engine and then turn the key back one position (ie start engine and then turn it off again but dont take the key back to off). I dont tknow if this is normal but its the only way my roof will work. I have always considered this weird but thought it might some sort of battery level check thingy to ensure i had enough juice to start the car after dropping/raising the roof.

thanks for replys so far
but there is something just behind rear seats on the drivers side, if yours is working you probably dont know its there. it holds 2 relays. mine are both missing. so have wired it direct to the battery and the motors work but hope this to be a temporary measure. if any1 has a convertible and can spare the time to have a look i would be very greatful. thanks again

I think the relay for the folding top is G21 in the fusebox (part number 941 615 101 11).
As Simch1 has stated i don't recall any relays behind the seats on mine either.
This site might help as it has the manuals for the cabs:

When you say "behind the seats" where do you mean? Rear bulkhead ie roof of the boot, or inside the rear arch ie behind the trim panel. I thought from memory, the motor was on the rear bulkhead, which drove cables to little gearboxes, one behing the side trims in the rear, that drive the hood mech. Are these missing relays close to the motor?

I have a special hood mech print off from PET whihc shows all the adjustment points and the "sealing" details of the hood. But It does not mention any relays?

How has this issue come about? Did the hood stop working, or never worked since you had the car??

There are / should be some micro switches next to the roof gearboxes, behind the side panel in the back seat area...Ill see if i have any pics from my old 968 cab...
