944 s2 cab noise - PLEASE HELP

Hi

My 944 S2 Cab has started to make a loud high pitched noise when I have been driving for around 15 minutes (when warmed up). It sounds like its coming from the drivers side breaks.

When I touch the brakes, it stops, on release of the pedal, it startes again.
When I gently move the steering wheel from side to side, it stops, then startes again.

I have replaced the brake disc, pads and the bearings, its still happening. I am not thinking of replacing the caliper.

Has anyone had this before?

Any help/advice would be a great help and much appreceiated.

Hi Gaz and welcome
Sorry for slow response, this bit is not looked at much!
You will probably find it is related to plate lift. Where the stainless thrust plate on the caliper is pushed off its seat by corrosion.
It is a regular problem with 20 year old alloy calipers with steel and salt.......
Having said that it could be the anti squeal pads on the back of the pads have not been fitted..
The best place to post is in the general area below, we generally have answers in minutes rather than days.

PS we love photos!
