944 rear tyres catching

I have replaced my refurbed wheels 17" cup 1s for another set of the same for the winter and the rear tyres catch on speed bumps occassionally.My question is how to stop the catching and is it to do with the suspension.I dont really want to get into replacing tyres if I can help it.

Whats changed (apart from your statement that suggests nothing has) [;)]

Some tyres have `rounder` shoulders eg: Toto Proxes - other than that the tyres must be a different aspect ratio or width?
 
As posted on TIPEC and you were asked specifics of the issue. Are the wheels the exact same? Are the tyres the exact same? Is it rubbing inside, outside? Top, bottom? Too many potential variables to answer!
