This car is in excellent condition.

I am now open to offers as I moving house in the near future and it will be approx six months before I have a usable garage. My insurance company will only cover theft if it's from a locked garage. Now would be a ideal time to sell so I am open to sensible offers.

Sale required URGENTLY.
I am willing to negotiate quite alot on the price for a quick sale.

Come grab a bargain[;)]

Simon

I might be interested if only because the car might answer to my name!

But its a 1986 car, and the history is going to be important. What have you got? You are I guess in London area, where can car be seen please? And your timing?

Heres an idea, change insurance companies!!!!!!

Try emailing UKtrucks on this forum (look him up in the member list). He is setting up a used car dealership specialising in front engine water coolers. Obvioulsy you'll only get trade, but if time is marching on.........

The Car is now SOLD
Thanks to all who enquired, someone local saw it on eBay and made me an offer, due to a iminent house move, I accepted as I need the space (& the money).
He did get alot of car for his money, but seems a good bloke whom i'm sure will look after it !
I replaced the rear wheel bearing for the second time in 2 weeks as the first one was noisy. & put a new MOT on it.

IMO both these cars are well over the top in price. 4k would get you a nice S2. I paid about half that amount for mine and I still think I paid over the top. 2k will buy a very clean Lux in a good colour spec etc.

Chris did say to me that had it been an S2 he could have sold it 5 times over by now. I think it's a car he has ended up with from one of his customers and would just like to sell it to get the money back from it. He is not a 944 specialist, rather an early 911 specialist and therefore doesn't know the market that well for pricing. I am sure he would be very negotiable on price as he is very keen to have the space back in his workshop.

Ian.

I have read it again, guess the 2.7 are a bit rare and are worth a few £££ more then a 2.5. The thing to do is put it up on pistonheads (its free) and see if any one bites at 4k.

the car is undoubtably worth the asking price however the market now is such that you just can't get the money. There is not enough peeps going for 944 they all want the quicker hatches. Its a buyers market for sure

I agree just looking at the prices on ebay and even the autotrader(where they held the price not so long ago)it is certainly a buyers market.
Having said that I would still pay more for a decent 944.

Both of those have more than their fair share of, how shall we say, lower end of the market examples [:(]. Really good examples will still fetch the higher numbers mentioned when the prospective buyers are sick of driving all over the country to look at the crud.

Recently we (that all of us on the forum), and also us Officials (trying not to sound eliteist honestly [:D]) have been contacted by a lot by people trying to buy good 944s. We give out all the usual advice yet time and time again we get called back (repeatedly) because they still can't find the good cars at £2k for a Lux, £4k for an S2 or £6k for a Turbo. Yes there are one or two bargains out there for sale at those prices by people who don't really know they have a good car, but on the whole you have to add at least £2k onto those prices for a genuinely good example.

Good cars will make good money

There are not many good cars out there
