924 Turbo wanted

carreracat

New member
Hi all,

I'm looking for a 924 turbo, must be RHD, preferably 1980 or earlier. Please let me know if you hear of anything for sale. Many thanks.

OPC Bolton and Newcastle have restored cars for sale. They'll probably be at the classic car show in a few weeks. Unfortunately your offer will need to be in excess of £20k to secure either of them. Pics of them in my post here https://porsche924.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=20378

One just appeared on ebay.. No pics, but click buy it now first, ask questions later.. at that price the vultures will be swooping in very shortly.. [link=http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/porsche-924-turbo-1981-/281478834632?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item41897229c8]here[/link]

Are you looking for a complete ready to drive car or an original unrestored project you can make your own? I only ask as I purchased one last year as a project and I've not been near it yet (due to birth of our baby earlier this year) The car's not been on the road for many years but its complete.

either would be considered. a driver would be preferable, but if it's a 79 or a 80 then any condition might work. is the 80 in your signature? what needs doing to get it on the road again, is there much rust?

There was one for sale recently in Aberdeen, I think, that had been raced in the Scottish Sports and Classic Championship. Not much money either. Might be worth contacting the club to see if they can pass on your interest. I also know of at least one (possibly a couple) of race prepared ones in Ireland that are going cheap but do need work.

Apologies for the delay in getting back to you, yes its the 1980 924 turbo in my sig. The car is actually being stored at my friends just now so I'll post up some pictures in the next few days. From what I remember its very solid with little rust, best to let me check it out again when I take pictures and I can then give an honest appraisal.

I'm still on the hunt. Have expanded my search to non turbos as well and have increases my war chest as I'm moving away from the idea of a project and want to get the best condition I can find. Any leads welcomed.
