Just fitting interior into my 84 model oval dash and realised there is no holes in seat base for rear seat belts

had a look on ebay and looks to be a few like this ????????

If you need holes in the rear squab then just use the original pierced squab as a guide and carefully push something through. The mountings are present on all 924s and derivatives.

I was confused until I looked back through your posts and saw that you were making one out of two...

An 86 car can accommodate two point fixed or inertia belts, or three point static belts. Every 924> has the mountings incorporated. If you want to use them you can simply pierce the carpet and rear seat squab and pass the fixing bolts through. The static three point third mount is trimmed with a large plastic screw in the C pillar.

So could i fit 3 point belts to my 84 model also, just i have small kids and would feel much better with decent belts in rear as my 84 has 2 point lap belts the now and i dont feel there enough so kids only get to go in car round town

Yes - static 3 point will fit an '84, but they dont have the plates in the back to mount the inertia ones.

Years (20+) ago I did see some inertia ones advertised to replace static 3 piont belts that could be fitted at any angle/position. no idea if they are still around.

Theres nothing to stop a third party three point inertia belt being made/used. The 1986 Turbo had two point inertia belts, so the mechanism on those was obviously able to work at varying angles as it was on a loose belt. The cheapest solution might be to find a pair of these and then get QuickfitSBS to run up a suitable length thee point belt which incorporates them at the C pillar mount end.

I cant take a picture as I sold my set a few years ago, but the inertia locking mechanism is very compact and wouldnt look amiss in the location that I have described. They don't have a massive capacity so they wont be able to pay out like a front belt does, but they'll be perfect for children.
