Hi, have a standard 2019 718 that is garaged and over the last few weeks have noticed water/liquid on the garage floor. Looked underneath and dripping from behind the rear tailpipes.

Is this normal ? Car is under warranty, just like to know before sending photos to OPC.

Thanks
Adrian

I'd put a tub under there and see if there's any colour to it. Pink is coolant. If it's clear then most probably just water.

From the first photo, it does not look like coolant. Most likely water condensing in the exhaust when cooling down after a short run and finding its way out at the pipe joint.

Thanks again Dan. I thought it was coolant and the OPC checked it a few weeks ago (found a small oil seal leak) but the water seems to have increased recently.

Thanks, I did wonder that as the OPC checked it a few weeks ago and found no coolant leak , just recently I’ve noticed this puddle, I’ll give it a decent run when we get some sun. Cheers again, Adrian

As above Adrian, and nothing to worry about if it’s clean water.

In this rather dank weather condensation collects in the exhaust system, especially if you’re not using the car very much.

Agree with Jeff and Adrian

Most probably condensation in the exhaust but be model that if left sat it can cause corrosion. Give it a good run so the exhaust gets nice and hot.

Dan.
