Hi
Can anybody on here advise as to how to remove the carpet in the rear luggage compartment of a 2020 Cayman 2.0L? I have searched the whole forum about this, and a while ago there was a post which had a lot of pictures showing how to do this when replacing the air filter. However these images seem not to have been migrated to the new forum.
The reason for this post is that since the change in the weather my car has been suffering from severe condensation which I have been attempting to manage. Long story short I think I have tracked the problem down to wetness entering the rear luggage compartment. The carpet was wringing wet on the offside rear of the compartment in a relatively small area towards the cabin bulkhead – the carpet has become so soaked that mould has started to grow.
I took it to an OPC this morning [Saturday] (it is covered by an extended warranty) who examined the trunk and confirmed that there was a definite problem.
However I was told that they cannot look at this until about mid-February due to having so much work booked in. When I got home I decided to remove the carpet to dry it out – foolishly I though this would be straightforward. But of course it isn’t – I searched YouTube and found some videos which cover removal of the carpet for early Boxsters but none for later model Caymans. Viewing those videos suggests that this could be a nightmare job.
So I would welcome any any guidance over this,
