356B 1962 rear axle bearing flange oil leak

I've recently bought a beautiful old car but unfortunately the rear bearing O ring has leaked onto the brake shoes. It was restored 10 years ago and on inspection the rear axle bearing flange has been damaged so that the O ring between the flange and shim will not seat and hence leak. I would be very grateful if someone could advise how to remove the axle bearing flange together with the half shaft tube that is shrunk onto it. Many thanks

It is worth joining the 356 Registry, you won't be able to post there and ask questions without membership but you should be able to use the search function to find the information you need if the question has been discussed before.

Michael, This is quite a job, not least in removing the axle shaft nut which is 350 ft lbs or more. You also need some special tools to remove the wheel bearing which you may like to replace.
I would seriously suggest the you have a specialist do the job unless you are a competent mechanic.
You do not say in what part of the country you are located, general area info would help send you to someone capable.
