I am trying to trace the history of my RHD 356a coupe. It was imported by AFN in 1957 and sold on to halfway garage in padworth near reading in feb 1957. It was originally aquamarine blue. Chassis number is 58402. At some point it was exported and when re imoprted in the 90s had an age related plate allocated. The DVLA have destroyed the previous records so no ideas on original number plate but it might have been ROY850 or ROY 350.
It was owned by a victor mansueto after it was reimported by which time it was red. It was later painted silver and is now in bare metal awaiting my attentions.
Any help, pictures, leads would be gratefully received.

sounds like you already have the basic information which is more than i had with my south african 1964 356C when i got it. so best thing to do is write an article about it get it published in the 356 register magazine which has a global audiance.

it might also be worth contacting Mike Smith of PR Services as he has quite alot of information on original RHD UK registered 356.
 
contact Mike at PRS - he was able to give me some information regarding the first owner of the 356 my father bought a couple of months back (from the AFN records)

I have tried all sources suggested. No joy.
Its very frustrating as someone out there must remember the car.
