R7 are proud to sponsor James and Belinda on their 2024 RNLI-911 Challenge which begins on the 23rd August, they have regularly supported us at Porsches on the Prom and as they embark on their epic challenge, they have offered an invitation to join them at RNLI stations.rs=w_1200,h_1600,cg_true.jpg

As you may be aware James and I will shortly be embarking on our ‘last blast’ RNLI-911 CHALLENGE which will involve us driving to all 238 RNLI Lifeboat Stations around the UK & Ireland within 911 hours.

The challenge will take us to every corner of mainland England, Scotland, Wales and the whole of Ireland, the Inner and Outer Hebrides, Orkneys, Shetland, Isle of Wight, Isles of Scilly, Guernsey, Jersey, Alderney and finishing on the Isle of Man where Sir William Hillary started the RNLI 200 years ago.

I have had a love affair with the 911 my whole life. So I would like to invite all Porsche owners to come and join us with their car at one or more of the 238 RNLI Lifeboat Stations.

For those who show up at a station, I will photograph their number plate. When we finish our RNLI-911 Challenge at Peel RNLI Lifeboat Station on 30th September, all the registration numbers will be entered into a draw and one lucky Porsche owner will win £238!!

Attached is the itinerary for their travels, they will be in our region on the 11/12 September.
Full details are also available on the website: www.rnli-911challenge.co.uk

That's good to hear Rich, sadly we have a really busy schedule this year and we cannot do as much, we are off to Spain with R7, however, we are meeting James and Belinda at Flamborough and then going to Bridlington with them in the morning and possibly down to Withernsea.

Staithes has a little parking space but Whitby has none.

Good morning all, as you may remember, the RNLI-911 Challenge Porsche is closing in on the region.

R7 are sponsoring James & Belinda for their stop at Bridlington RNLI station where they will arrive at 9.11am tomorrow, the 12th September.

We have permission for a number of cars to join them at the station if you wish to show your support please let us know below.

They will be departing Bridlington at 9.40am.

Splash had a breakdown this morning that caused a delay of a couple of hours, so unfortunately I didn't get to catch up with Belinda and James.
I had a great drive up to Staithes and stopped for an ice cream at Scarbados 1000022147.jpg

A technical issue at Redcar led to the RNLI-911 Challenge car making a stop at Porsche Centre Teesside who very kindly diagnosed the problem and had James and Belinda back on the road.

The problem delayed their arrival at stations down the East Yorkshire coastline, the last stop at Flamborough occurred just as the sun was setting which gave us an opportunity for a photograph by moonlight

We were joined at Bridlington RNLI station at 9.11am on the 12th September by local members, in support of The RNLI-911 CHALLENGE Porsche, "Splash" with James and Belinda at the helm. Their epic drive to visit all 238 RNLI stations in 911 hours is the culmination of four years of fund raising to buy an inshore lifeboat for the RNLI 200 year anniversary.

Also at Bridlington, another 238 Challenge team were fund raising on their similar adventure.

We travelled from Northampton to Hunstanton yesterday, as it was the nearest destination where James and Berlinda were visiting on their journey. Although we arrived well before they did, the lifeboat crew welcomed us warmly and made us feel right at home while we waited.

It was truly inspiring to witness the dedication of everyone involved in such a fantastic cause. We want to send our heartfelt wishes to James and Berlinda as they continue their journey. We’re cheering them on and are confident they will reach, and hopefully exceed, their target.20240912_191137.jpg
