A third-generation Porsche Cayenne is set to arrive in 2017 and our exclusive images show what to expect from the lighter, more hi-tech SUV. Prices have yet to be confirmed but the petrol, diesel and hybrid model range is likely to include familiar performance models like the Cayenne Turbo and GTS.
The current Porsche Cayenne's oval headlights will remain, but there will be a new clamshell bonnet like the one on the smaller Porsche Macan.
The side of the car features a C-shaped vent, with creases running back along the doors, while the Cayenne's tail-lights are now more modern, and use a variant of the light bar that debuted on the Panamera Sport Turismo concept.
Expect an interior similar to the current car's, boosted by tech such as on-board Wi-Fi and systems to help steer, accelerate and brake on the motorway.
A revolution has occurred under the skin, too. The Cayenne will use the new, lighter VW Group MLB platform that's set to debut in the new Audi Q7 later this year. It's the same platform that'll underpin the Bentley SUV and the Lamborghini Urus.
Porsche will work its magic on how the car drives, refining the mix of materials to cut around 100kg from the kerbweight compared with the current car.
All Cayennes will include torque vectoring by braking as standard, while higher performance models get adjustable air-suspension and PTV Plus - Porsche's name for its torque vectoring rear diff.
Engines will be a development of today's V6 and V8s, but there could also be a four-cylinder plug-in hybrid. Prices are likely to start at around £50,000 for a diesel, rising to around £115,000 for the Turbo S.
