2008 Cayenne GTS - No Ignition.

Had my '08 957 GTS since October, car is just coming up to 112k miles.

Tuesday morning when I attempt to start the car, on turning the key (the plastic version, car has KESSY) all I got was the central LCD and the two small LCDs in the instruments. No ignition warning lights and definitely no starting. Since then I have charged the battery, checked fuses 36, 40 and 41, tried removing these fuses for 30 secs, pressing the brake pedal for 30 sec, checked engine bay fuses, in fact all the tricks the internet suggests. Tried code reading with my Durametric but that needs the ignition on to read codes....

Is there any way to find out what is wrong?
 
I'd probably say the battery is dead. What's the voltage of the battery at full charge? Also check under the drivers seat for water ingress from blocked sunroof drains as this could cause issues. You could also try changing the battery in the key fob as a signal from the key is needed to start the car.

Hi Dan, thanks for the reply.

The battery was my first port of call, checked the voltage and it was 12.3V so I charged it, now at 12.8V, didn't make any difference.

I thought the remote's battery only powered the transmitter for unlocking, and the car checking with the remote's RFID was entirely passive, but changing the remote's battery is easy.

Looking under the carpet is my next check.
