2005 987.1 Cayman S exhaust

I'm a Porsche novice, loving my car and I have what may be a daft question but I'm hoping a more seasoned owner may be able to advise.

One part of my exhaust system was an advisory on its last service. The quote was "Boxes starting to split open, advise only at this stage"

Does this require the whole system replaced usually? Difficult to say for certain without seeing it for yourself of course but generally does this require a full system to be replaced?
 
Exhaust systems are modular so worn parts can be replaced without replacing whole system. Generally boxes fail due to moisture build up causing corrosion through lack of use / short journeys.

Heat shields tend to fail long before exhaust boxes.

Sounds like system is currently sound and can go on being serviceable for years. For peace of mind, suggest get another opinion from a reputable independent / MOT tester.
