2003 - 996 Carrera 4 cab - headlights

Some users report improvement after fitting after market bulbs...but many of these dont last as long and need replacing more often.

HIDs are illegal, LEDS dubious...remember it is the reflector that largely determines the throw of light, not the brightness of the bulb

It certainly would be good to find the solution. My recently bought 996 C4 definitely needs better night illumination. 🕯️🕯️

Most will say fit LED's, but they're not road legal so if insurance company finds out they won't cover you if you have an accident if lights or glare was a cause.
I'm still looking....

Osram nightbreaker bulbs improved visibility for my old 996. Not nearly as good as LED's but an improvement over standard bulbs. Had them about 5 years without problem, although don't use car very much at night.

Utimately, i solved the problem by driving within the limits of my visibility...if that is a bit slower than in daylight...so be it
