1987 Targa Rear Speakers

I would like to replace the rear speakers in my 911 Targa whilst retaining the factory appearance (i.e. the factory grille.)

The speakers I want to use are Infinity Reference 6402cf 4x6.

Does anyone know if I will be able to use the existing grilles?
Will I need a mounting plate?

Not sure about your question, but most importantly you need to check the depth of the new speaker as the access is very shallow...recalling a couple of years back, I think infinity speakers were to be fitted to my rear shelf, but were unable to do so.

I would suggest to remove the original speaker, measure the depth and then compare it to the specs for your new proposed speakers......I have the original grills in place with kenwoods underneath!
