Who would of thought then this Incarnation would be produced for almost the next 20 years and with so many versions:

- 3 different bodies 24 / 44 / 68
- 2.0 to 3.0 Normally aspirated engines
- 2.0 to 3.0 Turbocharged engines
- 8 & 16 Valve Cylinder Heads
- 95 to 350bhp (924 North USA trim / 968 Turbo RS)
- 150,000 924's produced
- 14" to 18" wheels (924 / 968 turbo RS)
- Bigger Brakes, Anti Roll Bars and many suspension upgrades.

In my opinion it's a testament of Porsche's Design team that such a chassis has coped with so many changes
and I don't know of any? other car that has been designed with a base model power output which grew by 270%?
Not to mention the biggest accolade is this design concept code named EA425 was designed on a "budget" using as many
Parts BIN components as possible. (VW Beetle / Golf & Audi 100 etc..)

Nice well documented write-up on your website - also useful links for anyone else thinking of doing similar mods.
You must have quite a few spare parts lying around now [;)] . . . how much for the front wings?

Thanks,

I SOLD virtually everything I no longer needed over the 3.5 years building the car (or thought I would ever again)
as the car will never return to Standard in it's life unless at some point a 1987 924S 2.5 is worth £50,000!

However apart from the original 2.5 block the only other items I've kept is the front wings! Just in case the fibre ones start to craze & crack too much or get damaged
I thought i'd keep them!

The total amount of all the parts sold in money terms was more than the purchase price of the car in 2012!

May I just correct one detail in that strictly speaking although Porsche did not completely develop a 2.0 litre for the 924 turbo they did produce a completely different cylinder head, exhaust and inlet manifolds and commissioned the modified pistons for the 2.0 T ;in essence only the block, oil pump and crank were Audi. Even the crankcase breather was positioned at a different angle with the stub pipe horizontal.

Thanks John,

I was referring that the first original design brief / concept and production car EA425 was designed on a "budget" using as many
Parts BIN components as possible. (VW Beetle / Golf & Audi 100 etc..)

Many people know that once they had sold many of the first 2.0 N/A models for years this car then went through a raft of changes like no other with many
component changes and different bodies / models all developed by Porsche including their own engines.
