Date acquired 5th June 2015
The car was a non-runner having been laid up in a barn (true!) since 1995. The last full service was done on 6th Oct 1994.
The car was bought in Sep 1994 by Josh Sadler (at Autofarm) as a project, but with all his many other projects on the go, this poor old 2.7 never got a look in. I bought it from Josh to take it forward.
It is a (once) pretty and original 2.7 Targa in original Black. As one of the very first Impact Bumper cars (production date is October 1973) it is an interesting hybrid of parts from the pre-IB cars in 1973 and the later fun IB cars from 1975 onward. It seems the first owner was Porsche GB and so it was perhaps an IB demo car. The first 'public' owner was the world famous Clifford Williams (1926-2005), actor, dancer and theatre director, fellow of Trinity College of Music, Director of the Royal Shakespeare Company, Producer of many shows, including Oh Calcutta!
I plan to undertake a complete restoration and it's booked in with the famous John Williams at Chesterton Coachworks (of Beruit 911 fame and many more). Several body panels have been purchased direct from Porsche to bring they car back to its former glory.
To date, I have stripped the car, removed the engine/gearbox and am awaiting the call from John Williams to take it in for restoration.
