At 7" and 8" width these will be S2 D90s, not Turbo ones. That said, they are completely interchangeable with the 7.5" and 9" wide D90s that were standard on a late Turbo, and the tyre sizes used are the same as on the 220 Turbo - 205/55 16 front, 225/50 16 rear.
For general road use I normally run my own Turbo on S2 wheels and tyre sizes. There's a significantly better choice of tyres available than for the late Turbo fit, assuming you want the same make on all four corners. The reduced unsprung weight is welcome and the car is generally smoother, quieter and more supple on the S2 wheels than on the Turbo wheels than it is . On the typical British B-road and today's poor road surfaces I think it's more pleasant on the narrower tyres.
My car has around 300 bhp and never feels short of traction, braking or cornering grip. Tyre technology has come on a long way in the last 22 years and in a relatively light, well balanced car like a 944, with the suspension in good order, you don't need extravagant width for everyday road use, even if you have lots of power.
