11th March 15 Club night reminder

Hi Everyone


Just a quick reminder that March Club night is on Wednesday the 11th March 2015.


I am pleased to report we have a guest speaker to entertain us. I'm sure he said he was from the Home Guard (not Dads Army I hear you say) We also hope to be able to bring you up-to-date on more of the Regional events for the 2015 season.

We will also be having all the usual feature of club night, the raffle (thank you to all who continue to support the raffle which subsidises event for us all to enjoy) Brothers TOM and JON give you the opportunity to take centre stage with your Tip of Month and Joke on Night.

We look forward to seeing you all on the Wednesday the 11th March 2015.

I keep missing all these great club nights cos Ive been in foreign parts and will be in April too.. Does anyone think that over 50 quid for the Porsche-recommended 90ml tube of RTV 730 solvent-resistant gasket sealant is a bit over the top when Ive been using ordinary RTV silicone in a massive bead subject to lashings of hot oil sealing the valve chests of V8s? I've no experience with using the RTV 730 sealant you mention but bear in mind that unlike the V8 engines you mention where gravity drains oil from the valve chests, the boxer engine layout in Porsches means that oil can collect more readily in those areas. I know that the scavenge pump(s) should take care of this when the engine's running but oil can accumulate when it's turned off. Just a thought really.

Are you planning to source the sealant from Porsche? If so, they are in the habit of ramping up the price significantly.

Hope you do manage to make it along to one of our R24 meetings some time this summer.
