Porsche in the Glen is the largest gathering of Porsches in Scotland and it has already been confirmed again this year for Sunday 17th May, Calderglen Country Park, Strathaven Road, East Kilbride, G75 0QZ.
This is always a great social event and unquestionably worth supporting especially for those from the North. The only thing is once you’re in, you’re in and you’re definitely not getting out until it’s time to leave due to parking restrictions, although you can choose to park in general parking if preferred.
There is no need to book to display your car (a £5 donation to charity is requested on the day), just arrive early enough to be in place before 11.30am. Please note, it will not be possible to leave early from the display area, with no exceptions until the show ends around 3.30pm, so if you plan on a shorter stay, parking is available in the public parking area not the show area.
Although Calderglen is easily doable in a day, after the success of our Clear Away the Cobwebs weekender this year, Deb & I have again decided to head North on Saturday afternoon and stay only minutes away at the nearby (dog friendly) Macdonald Crutherland House and Spa. As such, we would again like extend an open invitation to any R3 members who would like to join us for the drive up or to come along for a catch up at the hotel.
Please note, to clarify anyone wanting to join us will be responsible for booking, paying and making your own dinner reservations at the hotel to avoid confusion. I’m more than happy to look a scenic less direct route for the drive up, should anyone want to join us on the Saturday afternoon, allowing another, fun filled evening and relaxing, unrushed breakfast the morning of the event.
