Cabin filter - AIR FLOW DIRECTION ???

Can anyone confirm the direction of the air flow when fitting a new filter?
This is the one in the passenger footwell.

Have watched several youtube videos and on lh drive cars they say flow is to the centre of the car.
Then have just watched a rh drive car video and the owner says its to outer side.

Removed my old one a few days ago and thought the one I took out the flow was from the centre to the outside.
Tried to determine the flow direction by looking at the fan ducting but its not really clear when everything is up underneat the dash and deep into the footwell.
