Head lamp adjustment faulty

I have a boxster S 2007 987 3.4 a fault has come on my dash and keeps coming back " Headlight Beam adjustment faulty" has anybody any ideas and is it an easy fix?

I suspect that there’s a problem with one of the two headlamp levelling sensors … one on the front and the other on the rear suspension. A Porsche-specific diagnostic check [PIWIS or equivalent] should throw-up an error code to establish which one.

For reference, it appears that the same unit is used front and rear: part number 997 631 121 00.
