abs light comes on after 5mph

Yes, sensor or sensor wiring most likely. It's passing it's self tests on ignition as the light isn't illuminating at that point, so that means the ECU is likely good. The wheel sensors don't get checked until you start moving, so this is probably where your issue lies. The pump should also prime about 5 mph, giving a slight whir.

If it isn't a wiring issue then it will be one of the sensors themselves. You can put a meter across them to check the resistance is in spec to help you find the faulty one.

Front sensors are about £180 from Porsche, 2nd hand they are rocking horse poo as they usually get mangled when being removed, and you can take from that that they are a pig to remove generally as they are corroded into the hub and bend out of shape easy with any force.

I haven't investigated the rear, but for the fronts, the ABS loom has 2 earths, one at the shock absorber end and one in the bulkhead, easy enough to spot near the strut turret. It should work fine if either earth is good. I know this as one of mine is currently snapped at the shock end but still works fine as the top earth is good.
