Front shock

Hi all, went for a drive ealier and got to the end of my road and drivers front shock collapsed.
Managed to limp home.
But I'm now stuck. Can't even get my trolley jack under.
I need to either:
1. Get it collected and fixed
2. Get a mobile mechanic, who I can trust with my baby, who's got the right equipment, to fit a set of Blisteins in my garage.
I live in Plymouth.
Any helpful advice would be very appreciated

Such a catastrophic failure is not the front damper (shock as you call it) it is the front torsion bar that has snapped inside the lower A arm. Good size job to do but simple.
However, you will need a replacement torsion bar for the correct side of the car (ie Left/right) which is stamped on one end of the bar.

You will need to adjust the ride height of the repaired side to match the other side.

A decent garage or certainly a Porsche specialist will do the job easy, but getting the replacement bar could be tricky.

Also (sorry) there is a good chance the other side is close to breaking, so just might be good to replace both bars, or at the very least remove and check for early signs of cracks. If good, repaint with good red oxide paint.

The bar usually snaps at the steering rack end of the bar by the adjuster.
Water over time corrodes the steel bar at the splines (highest stress) and results in a very instant failure, and the broken corner collapses almost to the ground.

Known as a Stress Corrosion failure.

Try jacking up the middle on one side and then get something under the wheel or get another trolley jack under the front.
jacking up the non broken side at the front will also get the broken side more height. I agree it's likely to be the torsion bar breaking.

Thanks guys for the info.
I've ordered a jacking point pad and then hopefully I'll see what's happened.
Been binge watching youtube on how to replace them.
I'm assuming if replacing one Side need to do both?
