fused nuts on oil pipe to ally thermometer

Guess this a common issue
Got both the feed and return pipes from oil cooler to tank and engine off the car and the remaining challenge is to undo the two nuts from the brass pipes that connect to the aluminium bodied thermometer.
I believe the thermometer is useless as other pipe mating surfaces are very badly pitted or have simply disintegrated, so a replacement is required.

So.......... plenty Wd40 and other release agents.
Heat with blow lamp and give it some wacks with a slogging spanner !
I am not overly confident !
Any other suggestions from you helpful chaps would be great as to tackle these two 36mm nuts as I obviously want to reuse the pipes (which I think are brass) which have the offending nuts
attached ??
Did consider cutting the brass pipe near the nut so I can use a impact socket on it and braize/fit a union to join back together.
