Hi, buying a Cayman 982 with Design Sport Design package, as good as it looks have concerns about the damage to the radiator and the condensers as the opening is wide and no protection from debris.
Can anyone recommend a good solution please.
Thank you

A lot of owners plump for the Zunsport grilles which are a reasonably straightforward DIY fit. There’s a discount code somewhere on here too.

Just be aware that you may want to run this by your local Porsche dealer to ensure that any grille fitment won’t affect any warranty claims. It seems to be a bit of a lottery as to whether or not individual dealers think that it will be an issue.

Good shout Jeff.

My OPC were quite happy for me to leave my Zunsport grilled on while it was in for a service and actually said they should really be a standard fit.

Thank you Jeff, as I am buying it from Porsche Hatfield will ask them about the warranty issue.
Not sure if why DIY ability stretches that far.
Thank you
Ali

When asked, Porsche have always officially said no to grilles on cars that don’t have them as standard, like some of the GT cars, however illogical that is. The advantage of Zunsports is that you can remove them in a few mins if a visit to an OPC is necessary.

Good idea to have grills fitted. Are these grills glued or screwed on? If it's screws, OPC can still see the holes?

I believe that Zunsport will fit them for a nominal charge Ali, although unfortunately they’re in Staffordshire and not local to you. Maybe Hatfield would fit them for you [assuming they reckon it’s OK?], but they’ll charge you the earth at their astronomical labour rate. Maybe a local Porsche Independent like Jazz Porsche in St Albans would do it for you?

Jeff

As Hatfield are owned by Porsche Cars GB, they are probably most likely to toe the official Porsche "no" line. But always worth asking.

I will get in touch with Zunsport and get some idea about cost.
I will also contact Porsche Care in Stevenage and Jazz and see what they charge.
Porsche Hatfield is Porsche Retail will also check with them and find out about the warranty.
Thank you all

Don't get an OPC to fit them. It literally takes 15 mins and they are held on with metal tabs that you bend into place. They are easy to take off if needed and I'd advise you do it each spring to clean and hoover out any detritus that could corrode the fragile rads.

Zunsport provide simple instructions and there is also a youtube video should you prefer.

Hi Dan, will get in touch with Zunsport on Tuesday and get more details about cost and fitting instructions and video.
Good point about annual cleaning.
