that odometer looks iffy... the digits should be better aligned than that... and the drivers seat shows fare more wear than for 10k miles...

Assuming it was a special order judging by the colour, why on earth wouldn't the first owner have specified leather sports seats. Poverty spec seats were a deal breaker, when I was looking for a turbo all those years ago.Wish I owned above !!!

Adding a little more reason to my statement above, what car is more modern that:
a) is small enough to thread down narrow B roads at a brisk pace (i.e. the only roads I enjoy driving on anymore)
b) is soft enough sprung/damped to handle the poor quality of the surfaces of these B roads
c) has a manual gearbox
d) handles well and gets all the better as you press on
e) is comfortable and refined enough to travel a few hundred miles in a go
f) has aircon
g) can take enough luggage for two for a week
h) costs about the same to buy and maintain as my 944 turbo?
i) is solidly built
j) looks, to my eyes, as nice as a 944
k) won't depreciate significantly if at all
l) is quick enough to please me in a straight line or around the curves?
Seriously, if anyone can suggest a modern alternative I might take the plunge.
I’d say the mk1 GR Yaris ticks those boxes. I’ve had mine for a couple years and still loving it.
The only issue with it really is that it’s not a 944 and I’ve got an urge for one that just won’t go away.
Heart says swap it for a 944, head says that’s a stupid idea

I had done so for many years before retiring. These days after her full body restoration nearly two years ago I use her mainly just for car meets. ...Said it before, I would run a 944 turbo as an only car.

Yep but she looks mint now, just got to try and keep her that way. I should sell her but doubt I'd ever be able too...not after 26 years of fun memories....Could be why it's now on it's second full body respray Pete.

I only had on street parking at my last house and it was in the City Centre in a busy place, sometimes had to drive around several times to find a space. So you can imagine it got dinged a few times, the worst being my next door neighbours brother who reversed into it in a Landrover Freelander that had a spare tyre mounted on the back. That was an expensive insurance claim as it destroyed the boot spoiler....Edited my post. I've never used mine as a daily, too many big dogs down the years, and wouldn't want to leave it in a car park.

When you've done 90k+ miles in one its been left in many car parks, Its a bit of metal. Well insured if something goes wrong. Much rather do a million miles and take my chances rather than tuck it away for a non rainy day and do 12 miles a year.Edited my post. I've never used mine as a daily, too many big dogs down the years, and wouldn't want to leave it in a car park.
