How long have you owned your Turbo?

3 months as of yesterday!

Hoping to have it back from the Bodyshop next week.

On the look out for a Dansk back box if anyone has one surplus to requirements kicking around?

Wish I owned above !!!
Assuming it was a special order judging by the colour, why on earth wouldn't the first owner have specified leather sports seats. Poverty spec seats were a deal breaker, when I was looking for a turbo all those years ago.

Adding a little more reason to my statement above, what car is more modern that:

a) is small enough to thread down narrow B roads at a brisk pace (i.e. the only roads I enjoy driving on anymore)
b) is soft enough sprung/damped to handle the poor quality of the surfaces of these B roads
c) has a manual gearbox
d) handles well and gets all the better as you press on
e) is comfortable and refined enough to travel a few hundred miles in a go
f) has aircon
g) can take enough luggage for two for a week
h) costs about the same to buy and maintain as my 944 turbo?
i) is solidly built
j) looks, to my eyes, as nice as a 944
k) won't depreciate significantly if at all
l) is quick enough to please me in a straight line or around the curves?

Seriously, if anyone can suggest a modern alternative I might take the plunge.

I’d say the mk1 GR Yaris ticks those boxes. I’ve had mine for a couple years and still loving it.

The only issue with it really is that it’s not a 944 and I’ve got an urge for one that just won’t go away.

Heart says swap it for a 944, head says that’s a stupid idea 🤣

So true, mine was my only car for about 6 years, used to drive all over the place for work (stuck about 90k miles on it), use to throw the mountain bike in the back on the weekend for a few laps of Cannock Chase. Don't think I'd dare stick the bike in it these days in case I scratched the paint or damaged the interior! :D

I remember loading mine up when I moved house!!!
Also been to see customers with a small delivery of parcels in the back !
These were such a great car - a Swiss Army knife of a car!!!!

Yeah mine done a shift when I moved house too. Effortlessly takes two to the golf course with clubs and bags. Road trip in it last year, another one planned leaving next Monday (NC500 this time). Trips to the dump, school run, commute to work. An awesome machine.

Edited my post. I've never used mine as a daily, too many big dogs down the years, and wouldn't want to leave it in a car park.

I only had on street parking at my last house and it was in the City Centre in a busy place, sometimes had to drive around several times to find a space. So you can imagine it got dinged a few times, the worst being my next door neighbours brother who reversed into it in a Landrover Freelander that had a spare tyre mounted on the back. That was an expensive insurance claim as it destroyed the boot spoiler....

When you've done 90k+ miles in one its been left in many car parks, Its a bit of metal. Well insured if something goes wrong. Much rather do a million miles and take my chances rather than tuck it away for a non rainy day and do 12 miles a year. 😛
