911 (964) Carrera RS

£214,995

Description

Paint to sample Summer Yellow, M001 Factory built Carrera Cup car, C08 Japanese delivered from new.

The vast majority of 964 Cup cars were produced in either White, Red or Black, so this 964 is an exceptionally rare find. This example is also a later 1992 model year car which received a few upgrades from the Porsche factory. The earlier pre 1992 Cup cars were based on a modified Carrera 2 shell, whereas these were built from 964 RS N/GT shells. The later cars also had such features as the ultra desirable 18″ Speedline 3 piece alloy wheels which at the time meant the cars could run on the 18″ Pirelli slick tyre in the German DTM series. Being a three piece split rim, it also meant damaged wheels could be repaired easily and the 18″ wheel allowed more variation on suspension set up. Final assembly of the cars was completed at Weissach race department.

It is understood this car raced in the Japanese Carrera Cup of 1993 (which only had four rounds) and 1994 and then went into retirement and was then used as a track car, as their values dipped. The car was bought into the UK in 2015 where it was restored & received an engine rebuild. Although it is a full race car with rose jointed suspension and fully stripped interior the car is road legal and MOT’d, allowing you to drive to your local circuit, enjoy and return home without needing to trailer it.

The car is available now and ready to be driven as Porsche Motorsport intended. Any inspection welcomed.
