As we head into the end of another year with longer nights and chillier days, there are many of you who have tucked up your pride and joy for the winter. Some of you have your own winter checklist. Here are just some of the tips I've come across over the years: clean and completely dry the car prior to storing; leave the handbrake off with the car in gear and place chocks under the wheels to stop it moving; keep the fuel low so that it won't ‘go off’; use a trickle charger to keep the battery in good condition; place dryer sheets in the car on non porous surfaces (apparently rodents like them even less than moth balls (although I haven’t tried it); and keep the car covered with a soft indoor cover or outdoor cover.
