Third time lucky
After two postponements, our visit to Turweston Aerodrome finally took place at the end of June. Following coffee in the Flight Deck Café, Gary Loveday gave members a guided tour of the aircraft hangars, having first explained why he was walking around with a lump of cast iron in his hand. Recalling the history of the airfield during WW2, this was a link from the track of a Bren Gun Carrier, thousands of which were stored on the site during the war but were merely scrapped thereafter.
